Annotation

The subject of the diploma seminar was an analysis of the town of Štětí through essays on various topics. The text is supplemented with photographs of the town and countryside taken in recent years. The town lies on the banks of the Elbe River in the Ústí nad Labem Region. It is home to 8,500 people. The town is strongly influenced by the paper industry, which currently covers an area larger than the town itself. The town is crucial for the surrounding villages, mainly because of its civic amenities and job opportunities. The population is steadily declining. I believe that one of the reasons for this is the unattractive living environment, the lack of apartments, and the poor condition of the existing apartment buildings.
