Hypothesis–Utopia: Prague as the Capital of the European Union?
Annotation
The idea of relocating European institutions to Prague stems from the EU's eastward expansion, shifting the center from Brussels. With potential new members like Ukraine and Georgia, Prague becomes central, demanding enhanced amenities, infrastructure, and housing. Key issues include whether to disperse or centralize EU buildings, impacts on Prague's panorama, public access, and leisure spaces. The move could affect Prague's social dynamics and transportation, requiring optimization. Our urban development proposal emphasizes integrating EU institutions harmoniously with Prague's structure, ensuring inclusivity, sustainability, and maximizing green spaces. We explore scenarios for both compact and dispersed structures, respecting Prague's values while fostering future growth.
