The journey is the destination. That's how it should be. But in today's forward-moving world, people stop at the end result - the destination, which often loses meaning because the path to it has been overlooked. In my proposal, I am trying to slow that pace down for a while. To offer the possibility of a lull. To make the passer-by stop - and ask: Why? Why like this? Why here? I want the person to perceive the place . To feel what lies beneath his feet. To feel the rawness and the quiet dignity of the heap that remains here as a reminder of a bygone era. To understand that miners and even mute faces worked under his feet before. To feel awe - because he had just realised what had eluded him until now. This journey is not just physical.
