House of wood and joy
Annotation
The proposed house serves as a multi-purpose space for the life and work of a craftsman making wooden toys. It has four floors: a workshop in the basement, a shop on the ground floor, a working space on the second floor and an apartment with a pitched roof on the third. The house faces the street with a distinctive façade with French windows, the other walls closely adjoining the surrounding buildings. Light streams through the side facades into the deeper parts of the building. The concept links traditional craftsmanship with urban life and promotes sustainable local business.
