Between views

The observatory serves as a link between the visitor and nature, which plays the central role here. The visitor becomes an observer of the Silent Valley - each space is oriented towards a specific scene of the surrounding landscape. This creates a sequence of views that guide the visitor through the space and offer different perspectives on the environment. The concept is based on the definition of the word observe - to notice, perceive, and register something as significant. This ability of mindful observation is key to the design. The form of the observatory is shaped around an atrium - a quiet, private space intended solely for its residents. Rainwater flows into the atrium from the roof, bringing yet another level of contact with nature.
