PASTOR / RELIGION

My project stands at the boundary between the personal and the public. Two separate staircases converge in a narrow space where gazes cross through a small confessional window. At the center levitates the pastor’s house – the organ of the entire structure, one bridge connects it to his personal staircase, the other leads directly to the altar. The living space opens toward the Vltava River and Vyšehrad. The chapel, tall and narrow, faces the street; a single window in the shape of a cross lets light pass through the entire wall. The meeting hall below opens to the river, behind it a candle prayer room – dark, with a single source of light from above. Faith here is not peace, but tension.
