Internet Cafe

The Internet Café is a multifunctional space set within the static grid of the Smíchov Linear City above the Vltava River. The café itself consists of glass boxes scattered throughout the space, which function as tiny café rooms. The project also includes a small apartment for 1-2 residents and a private study. Everything is connected in the middle by a spiral staircase. I designed this place with a specific type of person in mind - someone who is obsessed with the internet and everything digital/virtual. I wanted to create a space that would express the need to be constantly connected to everyone, wherever they are, while also evoking the immateriality and dispersion of the virtual world.
