PLOTNA

FOLIMANKA PARK: WATCHMAN HOUSE WITH COMMUNITY KITCHEN. It's seven in the morning and I drag myself out of bed in my shack above the Botič creek. It's a beautiful day, the fog over the stream is thick enough to cut, and there's a pleasant chill in the air. I make myself a cup of coffee as black as night and go out onto the terrace to soak up the fresh Nusle air. Today's schedule is clear: in the morning, I'll walk through the park and check that everything is running smoothly. I have to get moving because my friend is coming over in the afternoon. It's his birthday, and he wants to throw a little party at Plotna, the public kitchen on the other side of my building. So I finish my coffee, splash some ice-cold water on my face, throw on some clean overalls, and march out the door at eight.
