KPA Research House: Cellular Structures

Anna Volfová

I was thinging for a long time during creating the concept. I wanted to make it part of my surroundings and I was looking for something related to Earth and life on it. The book Biomimicry by Janie Benyus was an inspiration for me. Author shows that everything man has created has origin in the nature - planes resembling flying birds, submarines almost resembling fish, turbines that look like shellfish shells, habitations evolved from caves...All the shapes we know have its origins in the wilderness. I started thinking. What does nature consist of? How do organisms work? What makes us walk, talk and even breathe? What allows us to live? The basic building block of all organisms is the cell. It makes us, nature and the whole world, so it inspired me to create a concept with cell structures.
