The introductory theme was the spatula, which we made from wood. This was followed by a realistic study in clay, for which I chose to examine a walnut. I then cast the study in plaster using a wedge mold. The theme after was stylization, which was based on the modeled and cast walnut. I took its structure and highlighted the interesting curves.
At the beginning of the summer semester, we modeled a clay monogram, which I composed from my two initials into an abstract composition. This was followed by a stylization inspired by tree rings, from which I created a graphic for textiles and then a 3D model, which can be seen on the blocks (see presentation). We concluded the semester with a construction set, where I returned to work with wood.
