The twenty-third year of the Werner von Siemens Prize has been announced and candidates in individual categories can apply via the website www.cenasiemens.cz until 30 November 2020.
This year will distribute CZK 830,000 in eight categories. In the categories of the best diploma and dissertation project, together with the students, the project supervisor will also be awarded.
Announced categories:
1. The most significant result of basic research (individual or research team)
2. The best teaching staff
3. Best diploma project (first three places + supervisor)
4. Best dissertation (first three places) + supervisor)
5. Award for overcoming obstacles in the study (the student is nominated from the academic staff within the university from the bachelor's, master's and doctoral studies)
6. Special award for outstanding quality of women's scientific work
7. The best graduate thesis (diploma / dissertation) dealing with the topics of the concept Industry 4.0
8. The best graduate thesis (diploma / dissertation) dealing with smart infrastructure and energy
The general public can also take part in the nominations - candidates and their work can be nominated via the website and, if the recommended winner wins, the nominee will receive a bonus of CZK 10,000.
