Analysis, categorization and new use of industrial landscape and areas after mining decline

The subject of the project are the challenges of returning or inserting a new function and life into the previously deprived landscape as a whole in post-industrial times (after the decline of mining). The study and the overall analysis will identify the spectrum of alternative approaches used to convert entire areas, objects and production facilities in the mining industry centers. The study will also verify the possibilities of applying approaches used for buildings in the mining industry premises in close relation to the industrial heritage. The project deals with the current issue of alternative use of unused buildings, sites and landscapes of heavy industry (especially mining) and falls within the developing scientific field. Its results can be used as a basis for owners and investors in deciding on the new use of these areas of industrial heritage.
