  1. Applying for Double Degree

Students can apply for the Double Degree programme via the Mobility app. The DD programme falls under the Erasmus+ umbrella. In the application form, you must select Politecnico di Milano as your first preferred university for both semesters (winter and summer) and tick the Double degree studies box.

You must also provide proof of foreign language skills and submit your application. Detailed information on how to prove the level of the foreign language can be found in the section Proof of foreign language level.

Only those who are actively studying at the time of application may apply. You will use your KOS login details to log in to Mobility.

  2. Application deadlines

    • 1st round: November – December
    • 2nd round: March

The CTU Rector's Office decides on the announcement of the second round of the selection procedure based on consultation with the faculty coordinators.

In the Mobility application, select the correct selection procedure in the section Overview of deadlines. Make sure the selection procedure is valid, the round is correct and the mobility programme is correct. You may also come across older, invalid tenders.

  3. Who can apply?

The selection procedure for the DD mobility within the Erasmus+ program is open to 1st year Master's students.

  4. Choice of university and field of study

In the application form you will select the field of Architecture and Urbanism (code 0731).

  5. Proof of foreign language level

PoliMi has an official language for teaching, English. The level of English will be a crucial criterion for the DD programme. Knowledge of Italian for DD is appreciated.

You can prove your knowledge of the language in the following ways:

    • Certificate (e.g. from an international or national language exam),
    • Passing the language test

    Certificates

    • TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, FCE

    • Validity of the tests: if you have taken the test in previous selection rounds, you can use your results (no older than 4 years).
  6. Submitting the application form

Before submitting, check all details, select the method of proof of foreign language and submit your application. Unsubmitted applications are invalid. Once the application has been sent, the Vice Dean decides on its approval. Reasons for non-approval may be:

    • Weighted average worse than 2,2.
    • Insufficient number of free credits (at least 20 free credits are needed).

Unapproved applications do not proceed to the next stage of the selection procedure.

  7. Nomination to a foreign university

Nomination is done by having the faculty coordinator enter your details into the system of the foreign university. After the nomination deadline, the university will inform you of the next step (usually the creation of an application using the access data you have sent).

    Deadlines for nominations:

    • Winter semester: March – June (by mid-June the latest).

Nomination does not guarantee admission to a foreign university.

  8. Application to a foreign university

Complete the application form according to the instructions of the foreign university and meet the deadline. If you need to provide a Transcript of Records, please contact the Faculty Coordinator. You will also need:

    • comparison sheet (to be signed by the Vice-Dean for Education)
    • Learning Agreement (example here)

Don't forget to submit your application on time. Acceptance to Erasmus+ is confirmed by a Letter of Acceptance from the foreign university.

  9. Documents prior to departure

After receiving the Letter of Acceptance, inform the faculty coordinator who will issue you a "card" in the Mobility app where you upload these documents:

    • Letter of Acceptance
    • comparison sheet
    • Learning Agreement
    • insurance
    • confirmation of studies

    The OLS test is optional.

Sign the financial agreement no later than two weeks before departure in order to receive the Erasmus+ grant. Sign the spreadsheet (link).

Good to know (Erasmus+)

Can I submit my application after the deadline?

No. Only applications sent by the deadline are included in the selection process.

How is knowledge of a foreign language, in this case English, proven in the application?

The following rules apply to English and German. If you have a TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, or FCE certificate in English, select this option in the application and then upload a scan of the certificate to the application. The certificate must not be older than 4 years. If you took the test in previous rounds of the selection process for a stay abroad, your results may be recognized for the current round. The test result must not be older than 4 years. If you are unable to replace the written test with a certificate or recognition of a previous test from the selection process under the above conditions, you must register for the test. The dates are listed directly in the Mobility application.

I already know the school that the coordinator will nominate me for. What should I do?

You are waiting for confirmation of your nomination. It will be sent to you automatically by email.

When will the coordinator nominate me?

Nominations for the winter semester take place between March and June.

I received confirmation of my nomination. What now?

You wait for a foreign university to contact you and send you the deadlines by which you must submit your application and provide the necessary documents.

I have received confirmation of my nomination, but the foreign school has not contacted me yet. Is that okay?

If the school has not contacted you within a month after sending the nomination confirmation, please contact the coordinator. Often, it is enough to remind the school or find out what is happening.

Do I have to sign a financial agreement to receive an Erasmus+ grant?

Yes. You must schedule the signing in person before departure. It is not possible to sign the financial agreement after departure.

Is there a deadline for signing the financial agreement?

It is advisable to schedule your signature at the Rectorate at least 14 days before departure. For the scheduled dates for signatures, please regularly check the spreadsheet located on the Study Abroad website.

Is there any difference between a participation agreement and a financial agreement?

Both are the same.

Where is the Comparison Sheet signed?

Fill in the comparison sheet and submit it or send it to the International Office for signature by the administrator and the Vice-Dean for Education.

Should I fill out a paper learning agreement or an online learning agreement?

CTU is connected to the online learning agreement system. Ask the international coordinator whether the university supports online learning agreements. If so, it is necessary to use it. If not, use the sample PDF learning agreement.

How do I fill out the online learning agreement (OLA)?

Via the https://learning-agreement.eu/ application.

When you click on "Login to access your learning agreement," a page will open with a video tutorial on how to start filling it out.

Who should I enter as the Sending Responsible Person in OLA?

Sending Responsible Person is Kristýna Sedlaříková MA

Who is the Contact Person at OLA?

Contact Person is Mgr. Helena Houšková.

Upon return

  1. Proof of Recognition of Courses

Once you receive your Transcript of Records from the foreign university, send it or bring it together with the Proof of Recognition of Studies Abroad form to the Study Department. Based on these documents, your courses from abroad will be recognized. Here is the Proof of Recognition of Courses template.

All templates can be found under the section Documents.

  2. Confirmation of Study Period

The original Confirmation of Study Period must be submitted to the International Relations Office at the Rectorate (8th floor) within 10 days of your return. This document will be certified by the foreign university, so you must request it before your departure. If the university sends this document electronically, it must be sent directly to CTU at the following email address: navraterasmus@cvut.cz.

  3. Stay Report (EU Survey)

Completing the Stay Report (EU Survey) is mandatory. You will receive a request to complete the report via the email address you provided in the Mobility application, through the European mobility database for Erasmus+. The request is sent at irregular intervals, so there is no need to worry if you do not receive it immediately after your return.

  4. “NAEP“ Report

Completing the NAEP (National Agency for European Educational Programs) report is voluntary. Instructions for completing the report can be found in the step-by-step guide. The Final Reports database is freely accessible, and by completing it, you will help future students plan their stays.

  5. Uploading Documents

Upon return, it is necessary to upload all relevant documents to the student's card in the Mobility system:

    • Proof of Recognition of Courses,
    • Confirmation of Study Period,
    • Transcript of Records,
    • Stay Report (EU Survey).
