Open house days will offer information about studying, lectures on architecture, drawing courses or tips for entrance exams (for Czech programs)

The beginning of November is traditionally marked by open house days at the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU in Prague. They tend to be earlier than at other faculties, because the deadline for submitting applications for bachelor's studies (in Czech programs) is 30 November every year. Those interested in studying architecture, landscape architecture or design therefore have the highest time to decide whether to apply and the open house days can make their dilemma easier.

"We are planning the open days for Friday 5 and Saturday 6 November so that people from nearer and further places can attend and not miss their existing classes too much or have to take a holiday. Most of the program is face-to-face, some lectures are online, and will be available as a live stream on the faculty's youtube channel. All the upcoming programme is free for all, but due to limited capacity it is necessary to register in advance for some events," says Jan Jakub Tesař, Vice Dean for Public Relations.

What can visitors look forward to? In addition to the traditional guided tours of the building and a lecture on the possibilities of study, they will certainly be interested in a lecture on drawing as a communicative language for architects and designers or a lecture on the beauty of geometry in architecture and design, as well as courses on drawing and descriptive geometry. They will also be able to try out a mock interview. The icing on the cake will be a film about one of the most important modern architects, Alvar Aalto, called Aalto: The Architecture of Emotions.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the wait for lectures, courses and tours not only with a cup of coffee in the ArchiCafé (only on Friday), but also by viewing several exhibitions or finding out about leisure opportunities for university students at the stands of student clubs, the CTU Career Centre and the CTU Institute of Physical Education and Sport (both days).

All information about the admissions process (to the Czech programs), including sample tests and statistics in previous years, can be found on the admissions website. The FAQ section answers the most common questions about the admissions process.
