Why would people want to work in an office building? How can a tall building positively impact its surroundings? How can architects navigate a complex site, guide stakeholders with diametrically opposed views and deliver a project, all in the challenging global context of climate change and cost pressures? Karen Cook will answer these questions using the example of her design for the 22 Bishopsgate office building in London, which she carried out as a founding partner of PLP Architecture.
American architect, graduate of Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Among the designs she has been involved in are 22 Bishopgate in London, Danube House and Nile House in Prague's Karlín, and Tour First in the La Défense district of Paris. After years of collaboration and partnership in the offices of KPF and PLP, she founded Spice Design studio with Jean Le Lay in 2022.
