DEMENTIA CARE HOME IN BÍLINA

In the 21st century, as life expectancy and quality increases with new, improved living conditions, we as society are facing unprecedented challenges. The current trend of population ageing highlights the need for innovative healthcare practices as well as architectural and design approaches. The subject of this master thesis is the design of an Alzheimers Center on the grounds of the Hornická hospital in Bílina. The goal of the project is to establish a new standard of elderly care. The design focuses on creating a healing environment that promotes the health, well-being, and quality of life of people with dementia. Emphasis is placed on community, sustainability, and inclusion.
