LAYERING

The thesis deals with the topic of potentially usable areas in the city for densification by means of extensions. Large shopping centers have been an integral part of cities and urban agglomerations for many years. Little attention is paid to the roofs of these mainly low-rise buildings, which occupy large areas and have no other use. The aim of the thesis is the concept of adapting one of the selected buildings of the shopping center with an emphasis on the use of roof areas for extensions and its connection with the existing program. An important point is the integration of the building into the overall structure of the city and the creation of new connections that will transform the current barrier into a permeable part of the area.
