Point Zero is the design of an international research station located at Mackay Point, Antarctica. The project evolves from the theme of The Last Atomic Bomb Memorial competition and transforms the concept of memorial into a forward-looking architecture. The station supports research on the effects of nuclear waste, climate change, and biodiversity preservation through a genetic archive. The name Point Zero refers to a place of pause and decision a beginning defined by responsibility rather than history. Antarctica becomes both the last and the first point the zero point of a new architectural responsibility.
