Annotation
This bachelor's thesis deals with the relationship between man and nature through the design of the object of a chair. By combining an unprocessed tree trunk and a technical steel structure, it creates a visual and ideological contrast between the natural and technical worlds. The chair becomes a bearer of meanings, a physical embodiment of an ecological issue, a reproach to our consumption and at the same time a tribute to the original material. Through the personal experience of sawing a tree, to the final processing - I open up the questions of ecological responsibility, conscious consumption and the human desire to dominate nature. The stump, torn from its environment, takes on the form of an artifact - a fragment of the forest exhibited as a relic. The resulting chair is thus not only a functional object, but a visual and ideological reflection of the current state of our relationship to materials and the landscape.
