PÍSEK - SOUTHWEST

This diploma project presents an urban design study for a development area in the city of Písek, located directly next to the historic city center and divided by the Otava River into two distinct banks. The proposal aims to establish a sustainable and phased development concept with a strong focus on residential use. It builds upon existing planning studies and respects the character and values of the existing built environment. The phasing strategy reflects the anticipated lifespan of current buildings, allowing for a gradual and thoughtful transformation of the area over time. Key elements of the design include pedestrian permeability, vibrant public spaces, and the creation of a cohesive residential environment seamlessly connected to the core of the city.
