Annotation

The thesis addresses the phenomenon of vague terrains undefined urban areas with potential for development outside conventional planning frameworks. Using Kraví hora in Brno as a case study, it explores the possibilities for a sensitive transformation of a place that combines public greenery, allotment gardens, a former military complex, and sports functions. Kraví hora is a space with exceptional potential located in close proximity to the city center, yet retaining a unique, semi-enclosed character. The aim is to propose a strategy for gradual transformation that respects existing values, preserves the character of the area, and opens it up to a broader range of users. The work is based on field research, analyses, and development scenarios, seeking solutions founded on principles of minimal intervention, respect for the place, and a balance between public and private space.
