THE CONVERSION OF THE FORMER INDUSTRIAL SITE IN ŽELEZNÝ BROD

My valuable work is to reuse the old factory building in order to bring the town a mistaken civic amenity and was financially sustainable for such a small town as Železný Brod. The size of the building offered space for a few functions that support each other but are capable of operating independently both spatially and operationally. The program of the building is based on information obtained both from the town planning plan and from a public survey and a good understanding of the local situation. A significant part of the fire station is connected to the restaurant and fitness center via a large sports hall. The resulting design fills an attractive area into the public space around the waterfront and, on the other hand, builds on the newly emerging square. The proposal has managed to apply most of the set objectives, including a gentle approach to the preserved original façade of the whole building.
