I want to show that even high rise buildings can be friendly in a block city. I investigate how many different typologies can be handled by one house, which I assemble into dense structures defining, but also interweaving, the boundaries of high and low, internal and external, owned and shared, light and dark, busy and calm. An inversion to the built-up areas are the gardens in courtyards, from where trees reaching to the third floor windows cast a gaping shadow on the opposite courtyard beyond the fence. We live in households that are diverse. I use the potential of the room as a separate private space where I may or may not just sleep. We will meet together in the kitchen.
