EXPANSION OF THE ZOO LIBEREC

The subject of the diploma thesis is the development conception and masterplan for the expansion of the Zoo Liberec. The thesis responds to the intention of the Liberec Zoo to expand into the adjacent wooded valley with an area of approximately 12 ha. By analysing the phenomenon of zoological gardens, the basic principles defining the vision of the zoo expansion are identified, which is subsequently projected into the spatial and plot dimensions of the masterplan. The prioritisation of each intervention is expressed by dividing them into several stages. In the first stage, the defined procedures and strategies are examined in the design of the individual projects.
