Annotation

On the site of the former Žižkov freight station now stands something unexpected — an artificial rock face. Silent, upright, bold. On one side, it’s smooth and calm. A glossy surface reflects the city — buildings, trams, the rush of morning life. It seems fragile, yet it’s solid as stone. A quiet monument to what once was, and a hint of what might come. Hidden within the façade are revolving doors that lead to restrooms, their floor plan inspired by a concrete core sample — a subtle nod to the site’s technical past. On the opposite side, the rock breaks and roughens. Grips, overhangs, and cracks emerge — a place for climbing, for strength and courage. It doesn’t look like a mountain, yet it is one. It stands between worlds — between city and landscape, movement and stillness.
