ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY

Design of an Orthodox church with an adjacent parish house and community center for the Ukrainian faithful community in Milovice. The compositional foundation of the design is a trio of concentric circles—the outer defines the boundary of the structure, the middle forms a visual and symbolic veil for the spiritual space, and the inner represents the chapel itself. Between the structures are two gardens: a contemplative one, meant solely for observation, and a communal one, open for community use. The glass chapel is surrounded by a body of water that mirrors its shape, enhancing the impression of spiritual depth and infinity. The horizontally dissolving form of the chapel creates an illusion of merging with the sky, emphasizing the transcendent nature of the building.
