VYSEHRAD VINEYARD

Winemaking in Vysehrad has a deep tradition dating back to the Middle Ages. The aim of this project is to extend this tradition in Vyšehrad - through a new building and space for planting vines. The whole design is sensitive to the silhouette of the walls. The new building is therefore hidden in the earthwork and uses rough materials in the shade of brick. At ground level, it offers a walk among the vine seedlings with seating in an arbour. The winery operation is located on the first underground floor. The concept combines the restaurant space with a view into the winery, giving visitors a glimpse into all phases of the production process.The three-aisle restaurant is decorated with a groin vaults and illuminated by a long horizontal window overlooking Prague.
