Tábor Prison

The proposed prison for 150 men is located in the area of former military airport Tábor-Všechov, on the site chosen by the Prison Service of the Czech Republic for construction of the first prison in South Bohemian Region. Prison is located in the area of former airport facilities, which maximizes the land usage and also allows possibility for further development. The prison itself is a single building in the form of a closed block, which symbolises closure from the outer world and encourages prisoners to focus on retrieval and catharsis. The epicenter of the prison is the inner walking yard inspired by medieval monastic gardens, which symbolizes hope and brings a feeling of humanity to the prison.
