TURNOV STREAM

Turnov lies in the Poizer region, in the valley of the Jizera River. Its terrain and barriers like the river and highway shape its structure, with diverse buildings influenced by medieval and Baroque history. The project area includes Koňský Market, nearby housing, and family houses. The design aims to revitalize Koňský Market despite its location in a flood zone and to transform the main road into a livable urban street. Flood measures involve diverting the Malá Jizera, creating a retention basin, and raising the riverbank with underground parking. New buildings respect the town’s historic character and connect the modernist estate with the center, while the outskirts feature green residential areas.
