MONASTERY IN ZLÍCHOV

Annotation

Silence, calm, humility… At first sight, just another house on the street. And just like its inhabitants – simple, unassuming, and traditional. The monastery for 15 Franciscans stands on the Zlíchov hill. The building embodies the essence of their life: simplicity, poverty, humility, and love for nature. The entrance leads through an arcade into the public spaces. The second floor serves the community and daily monastic life. Even higher is the floor of cells – intimate and quiet. From here, one can enter the cloister – a corridor leads through the hill directly from it. At the end, there is only light and a viewpoint: "The Last Pilgrimage" – a place carrying the memory of death and hope. In the attic, a hydroponic garden grows.
