INNER WORLD

The aim of the semester project was to transform an old garage building in Petřiny into a space that better meets the needs of local residents and introduces new opportunities the area currently lacks. The core idea of my design is the atrium. By carving out a large portion of the existing volume, a spacious inner courtyard is created, bringing light, openness, and new potential to what was once a closed-off, utilitarian structure. From the outside, the building maintains its original character, but reveals an unexpected openness within. The atrium becomes the heart of the project – connecting various parts of the building, allowing visual and vertical links between floors, and offering space for new forms of community and functional use.
