Apiary for Kotěra’s Water Tower Reservoir When I first went to see the tower, the first thing I noticed was that although it had been recently renovated, the building seemed to be almost hidden. It was behind a tall wall with occasional barbed wire or ugly pieces of tarp. Almost as if there was something to hide, something dangerous or horrendous. For this reason I gave myself the mission to use my project to put some kind of spotlight on this majestic piece of architecture. The easiest way to do that would be to put my beehives on the roof, but it would be inaccessible and it’s shape wouldn´t be easy to use. As the best solution I found to place my building in the very heart of the tower, directly below the main tank.
