ATHENS COURSE

Dear student, Welcome to the ATHENS course! We are from the Faculty of Architecture, Department of Urban Design, and Department of Spatial Planning. Together, we will explore public space, its various forms, and the changes it undergoes. We will focus in more detail on the phenomenon of Privately Owned Public Spaces (POPS) in Prague. This course also has an online phase, where we will collaborate remotely, and you will analyze a public space of your choice in your own city. We look forward to working with you!

Join our ATHENS course and explore the dynamic world of public spaces and POPS (Privately Owned Public Spaces)! As part of a network of 17 European universities, we share knowledge, foster collaboration across countries and disciplines, and engage with pressing urban challenges.

This hybrid course combines a one-week intensive workshop in Prague with an online continuation, allowing you to further develop your research and collaborate with fellow students. Together, we will analyze and discuss key public space, cities, and society issues, engaging in hands-on research, debates, and real-world case studies.

Expand your perspective, connect with experts and peers from across Europe, and take part in shaping the future of urban spaces. Apply now and join the conversation!
