Up-to-date information on reducing the risk of coronavirus infection

Vojtěch Petráček, Rector of CTU, issued a new Rector's Order No. 7/2020 to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection in which he extended the risk areas to the whole of Italy, banned all business and study trips to this country and strongly urges all CTU students and staff to not to visit the risk areas privately and help to stop the spread of the epidemic.

On 6 March 2020, the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic issued a new emergency quarantine measure for all persons with temporary or permanent residence in the Czech Republic for more than 90 days or for persons employed in the Czech Republic and returning from Italy.

Persons who have been staying in the risk area will be obliged to isolate themselves from contact with others for a period of 14 days from their return. If possible, given the nature of their work, they will be instructed to work at home (home office). If the work from home is not possible due to the nature of the employee's work, it is an obstacle to work on the part of the employer and the employee is entitled to wage compensation equal to the average earnings. The employees are also banned from accessing all CTU premises, including canteens, study rooms and libraries.

Students will be, for a period of 14 days from the return from risk areas, excused from all lessons. Students will be allowed maximum distance study or provided materials for self-study.

If people develop symptoms of influenza or respiratory illnesses, they immediately report this to the CTU support point and contact the doctor or hygienic office by phone (+420 733 673 949, at night: +420 733 673 900).
