We would like to invite you to CTU conference Diplomka ve třech minutách (Thesis in Three Minutes). The task at the conference is to present your research in just 180 seconds. The presentation should clarify the background and significance of your research to a non-specialist audience (think of a student studying a different field than you). An ideal presentation conveys your enthusiasm for the presented research and captures the audience's attention. Only a single static PowerPoint slide is permitted. The best presentation will get an award. The format of presentations is based on 3MT: Three Minute Thesis format by the University of Queensland. It is possible to present an already defended master thesis or the research you are currently working on. The conference will take place online on April 23rd 2021.
Presenting your work in just three minutes is a bit of a challenge but we hope it will allow you to look at your own work from a different perspective. The ability to briefly explain your work is an asset at conferences, job talks, and when meeting friends working in other fields. The conference will be hosted on Gather.town platform. The platform offers a more engaging experience compared to Zoom or Teams calls. It allows participants to informally interact with each other in one on one meetings or even play games. The conference also includes a workshop (in Czech) on writing and presenting skills with lectures given by Eva Pavlíková, the director of the česko.digital, a journalist Miloš Čermák and other speakers. Visit website conference website zatriminuty.cz (in Czech) for more details.
Some of the talks will be in given Czech, but we would be very excited to have talks from English-speaking students.
You can register at forms.gle/5427JnbTsWAz7oLj8 until the end of this week (April 11th, 2021).
We look forward to meeting you at the conference.
