As part of the Film and Architecture Festival, the Faculty of Architecture will screen the world premiere of Another Kind of Knowledge, a film about the Danish architect Dorte Mandrup.
Another Kind of Knowledge is the result of a conversation with renowned Danish architect Dorte Mandrup, which began in 2017. A prominent figure in the Scandinavian architectural world, she is now increasingly gaining a global profile.
In this film portrait, Mandrup reveals the foundations of her practice, which is based on a synthesis of place and history, materiality and formation itself, resulting in an articulation of the present. Her constructions are always indicative of the site. But what does it say about her? Who is Dorte Mandrup? What has shaped her approach to architecture? Another Kind of Knowledge reveals something about Mandrup's inner and outer landscapes, and is also a fascinating story of the essence of contemporary architecture.
Special simultaneous screening of the premiere with Copenhagen Architecture Festival
The screening will be followed by a discussion with architect Dorte Mandrup and geologist Minik Rosing, moderated by journalist Anna Ingrisch.
