An international meeting aimed at educating primary school children on the topic of landscape and climate change adaptation will take place in the form of an online webinar on Thursday 9 June from 13:00 to 17:00.
The meeting is held in conjunction with the launch of the international EduScape project, which is based on the idea that landscapes ("Landscape" in the broadest sense of the word) in their complexity can serve very well as a tool for teaching topics related to climate change adaptation and other topics requiring an interdisciplinary approach.
The content of the meeting will include short presentations by organisations and experts who have long been involved in educating children about landscape and environmental issues.
The follow-up roundtable will be devoted to a discussion with the aim of defining the main starting points on how to further support, meaningfully develop and gradually integrate this area of learning into the curriculum.
Due to the international setting of the project and the presence of foreign partners, communication will be mainly in English. Please confirm your participation in the webcast by sending an email to eduscape2022@gmail.com.
Foreign partners of the project are universities Universidad Rey Juan (Spain), Universita degli Studi di Camerino (Italy) and Technische Universität Wien (Austria). For the Czech Republic, the project involves the Department of Landscape Architecture of the FA CTU and the non-profit organization Město přátelské k dětem, z.s., that has long been involved in the participation and education of children in relation to the environment.
