The Rudolfinum Gallery presents a project of creative sharing between British artist Anthony Gormley and architect and author of poetic texts Pavla Melková, teacher at the Department of Building Theory, guarantor of the course Building Science V (Concept and Interpretation).
"Both Gormley and Melková seek to intensify our sensory perception of the places we inhabit and deepen our reflection on how we fill space and respond to the objects around us. Gormley's evocative spatial installations and sculptures are framed by his drawings and the immersive images of environmental perception that Melková creates in her poetic texts. Together, their works thus map and activate internal, perceptual, and architectural spaces."
The exhibition ANTONY GORMLEY / PAVLA MELKOVÁ is a continuation of the mutual artistic dialogue that began in Prague and resulted in the joint publication Gravitational Field of the Ineffable (KANT, 2022)
The opening of the exhibition will take place on Wednesday 4 September at 7 pm with the participation of both artists. The exhibition will run until 5 January 2025.
