We cordially invite you to the exhibition Ukraine. Architecture of Emergency, which was created in 2023 at the ALICE studio (EPFL in Lausanne). It was created by Ukrainian architect Elena Orap and Spanish architect and urban planner Estefania Mompean Botias. The exhibition presents architecture as a tool for survival, resistance and renewal in conditions of war and crisis.
Using concrete examples from Ukraine, it shows new approaches to temporary and long-term housing, sustainability and working with disturbed environments. The project is also a powerful educational stimulus for the younger generation of architects and planners.
The exhibition's theme is also highly relevant in the Czech context - not only in terms of international cooperation and solidarity, but also as an inspiration for developing crisis architecture, where Czech architecture and civil engineering can play a key role. The curator, Pavel Kappel, and the architect, Lukáš Janáč (YUAR studio), participated in its preparation.
