Tomáš Hoření Samec holds a PhD in sociology and focuses on analysing housing discourses and power relations in the housing context, as well as on examining the opportunities and limits of introducing participative forms of housing provision in the Czech Republic. He has conducted various research visits, for example, at the University of Vienna and the Fulbright Masaryk stipend at University of Arizona. He has published his research in Urban Studies; Housing, Theory and Society; Housing Studies or New Political Economy journals and co-edited a thematic issue of the Czech Sociological Review exploring the Czech housing crisis
