Mgr. Vladan Klement, Ph.D.

Assistant professor

Philosopher of the city. He obtained his PhD at the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University, with a thesis entitled “Moral and political implications of urbanism.” He specializes in moral and political philosophy in relation to urbanism and the philosophy of the city. His main topic is public space. After completing his doctorate, he joined the Center for Global Studies at the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences, where he began researching Arab urbanism in relation to moral and political influences. He is currently conducting secondary research at the Institute of Contemporary History of the Czech Academy of Sciences in the “Urbanity” project. He is a member of the international Philosophy of the City Research Group and The Informals, which brings together academics engaged in informal urbanism.
