REHABILITATION OF THE FRANCISCAN MONASTERY IN ROŽŇAVA

Former franciscan monastery in Rožňava is a baroque-classical complex, listed monument and one of the urban landmarks. The aim of the project is restoration and rehabilitation of this neglected building and enrichment of his entourage with a new contextual building. Architectural programme of the proposed complex will be conform to its historical value. I design a local museum with a library, tourist accommodation and offices and studios to lease in the historical structure. The new building’s ground floor will include tourist information office, café and a small community centre. The first floor is dedicated to the continuation of accommodation block, linked with the old building by a glassed-in passage. A new formed public courtyard will be the inetgral part of the project.
