SUPERBLOCK PŘEŠTICE

The Přeštice courtyard block, defined by almost continuous panel buildings reaching up to the square itself, has become a city park that already requires modernisation. Its value potential, however, does not have to come only from park and landscape improvements, from the addition of furniture or the expansion of outdoor activities in the public space. At a time of efforts to develop settlements within themselves and at a time of demand for affordable housing, a timely and natural question is in order: SHOULD WE FIND AND USE INTERNAL RESERVES? The answer is sought in the present solution, which also formulates principles on how to work with existing prefabricated settlements, how to calm down public, semi-public, and semi-private spaces in relation to the existing urban structure, or how to further exploit or, better said, effectively use the value of the currently built-up area, including all connections, such as the feeling of the population or the existing transport and technical infrastructure. My intention is to create an urban, varied, layered residential area with many opportunities for balanced urban development.
