MULTIFUNCTIONAL BUILDING IN ZLÍN

The subject of this thesis is an architectural and urban design study for the redevelopment of a part of the Svit industrial area in Zlín, with an emphasis on sustainability and efficient resource recycling. The first part analyzes a vacant plot at the corner of Vavrečkova and Dvacátá streets in the context of broader urban relationships. It is followed by the formulation of a vision for the transformation of the Svit area into a new eco-district, inspired by the principles of the circular economy and a self-sufficient urban metabolism. The final part presents a specific design for a residential building and a polyclinic, including the layout of the adjacent public space in connection to the railway station.
