PRISON TÁBOR

Architecture and Urbanism, MA diploma project

Annotation

Prison is a topic that remains on the margins of social attention - often neglected, misunderstood, or even deliberately ignored. Yet it touches on how we as a society view justice, guilt, forgiveness and second chances. Prisons are not just places of punishment; they are a mirror of our values, our relationship to the law and our belief in the possibility of change. This thesis is concerned with the design of a women's prison near the city of Tabor. It is based on the knowledge gained in the diploma seminar and on the current standards and principles of humane treatment. The aim of the proposal is not only to create a functional and safe facility, but also to stimulate interest in a topic that is often neglected, despite its direct impact on individuals and society as a whole.
