Rebirth? That is the goal of the iconic Na Hrázi street. This street with a rich history, located in Palmovka in Prague 8, is almost disappearing and gradually falling apart under demolished or dilapidated houses. The task was to create a new development, but with a sense of history and cadastral plans of the street. The plot that I am solving in my project is located on the corner, at the place where Na Hrázi street flows into Kotlaska street. With respect to the existing seven-story apartment building on the left side and the original low-rise form of the demolished houses on the right side, I created a gradating mass in the style of three cubes. This form thus gently cements the high and low-rise world. The ridge of the gable roof of the highest mass connected to the ridge of the neighboring one. By closing the corner, a semi-public courtyard was created in the inner part of the plot, which is accessible through a passage located on the 1st floor and also through a glass neck connecting the house with the neighbor. On the ground floor, there are also commercial spaces, which are intended to attract life and traffic to both streets through glass storefronts. The remaining floors are then occupied by apartments of both a smaller and larger scale.
