Motol - The Roof Calling for the Therapy of Imagination

The bachelor's thesis is based on the study "Motol, a roof calling for imaginaEon therapy", developed in the winter semester 2024/2025 in the Sifa studio. The design strives to make the most of the potenEal of the site so that the roof of the children's recepEon of the Motol hospital, originally an inhospitable concrete surface, is transformed into a welcoming space through the use of natural materials (wood, natural Eles, burnt bricks or concrete) and rich vegetaEon. The key principles of the design are simplicity, accessibility, privacy and coziness. The organic shapes of containers with plants and benches create zones for relaxaEon, complemented by play elements, water areas and a small café in the corner. The roof becomes an oasis for paEents, visitors and doctors.
