SACRED SPACE

In every age, church stands in front of a new situation, it has its own up-to-date understanding, its own face. It is this exact self-understanding that should take into account the original expression form. Our question should not only be the external representation of the church, but above all its nature. What is today´s church supposed to express and what is its purpose? In my proposal I deal with the phenomenon of sacral space.I deal with the christian church for salesians in Petržalka. I deal with the sacral space in 21. century. I believe that the purest way how an architect can form a sacral space is that he will risk his own version of given space. The goal is to create a place for liturgy, where we can experience an emotion. A place that will rise our minds to God. A peaceful, harmonic, calm, natural, inviting place. Silence. I am searching for a new form based on christian archetyp pattern. The atmosphere of the sacral space comes from a personal experience, follows the experienced sensation and has its roots in historical tradition.
