URBAN PLANNING - ROHANSKÝ OSTROV, PRAHA 8

The diploma project is focused on urban design for the Rohanský Island, which was originally one of the river Vltava´s islands but currently is a part of the Prague district Karlín. The main design objective is to valorize the unused parts of the Rohanský Island and the adjacent surroundings and create an independent city district with its own infrastructure. The design brings back the original solution including the Vltava´s arm and creates a large city park along the riverbank, keeping in mind easy access to the river and link-up with the surrounding districts. The buildings with their scale sensitively reflect the city structure and park greenery in the vicinity.
