CATERPILLARS

Simona Suchá

Annotation

The City. Prague has its main arteries. In between them, there are gaps and milestones – forgotten and abandoned places where people just pass through and almost never stop. The space between the tracks is a place without a name – a no-man’s land. But it could belong to everyone. I am bringing something new into this space – something creeping along the railway lines. Like caterpillars, my structures crawl alongside the tracks. In this way, I recycle forgotten spaces. The space between the tracks, it is quiet – almost lifeless. This is exactly where life should move – into the unused, forgotten gap. So that the clamor of the railway artery is drowned out. So that instead of the noise of machines, we hear the voices of people.
